Derma Shield Plus has the ability to repel substances with any pH level from zero to fourteen. Therefore, effective against both acids and bases.

Derma Shield Plus can repel almost all acids with the exception of hydrofluoric acid (HF).

On the alkaline side of the pH curve, Derma Shield™ can repel caustic substances such as:
caustic soda, lye, and lime.

Derma Shield Plus is hydrophilic while in the container, however, when applied to the skin, the water -
within the product evaporates, thus causing the layer of product on the skin to become hydrophobic.
This gives the product the ability to repel hydrophilic substances.
